WALLACE WATSON REELS
WALLACE WATSON No3 (Circa 1930's)
Made by Mr G W Watson of Battle House, Hexham -On -Tyne, Northumberland was issued with Patent No 364 461 for his fishing reel on April 13th 1931. This particular reel was known as the Trigger reel, it comprises of an alloy casing pivoted (hinged) to the brass foot which attaches to the rod, when a fish pulls fast the hinge moves and operates a fierce brake inside the reel. Brakes were Wallace Watson's favourite invention and is a highly sought after Collectors Reel. This reel is in beautiful condition it is fitted with a brass foot and line guard, two ivorine handles and fitted with a brass strapped over tension regulator. It is marked on the back Wallace Watson Patent No. 3 JJS Walker Bampton & Co, Alnwick and stamped inside 182.
The internal mechanics are an absolute delight to admire. A special reel in any collection.

WALLACE WATSON Casting Reel (Circa 1918)
Made by Mr Mr G W Watson of Battle House, Hexham - On -Tyne, Northumberland. The following has been extracted from an Orginal Advert for this particular reel, see below. "This reel is designed to provide a spinning reel requiring the minimum of skill in manipulation, combined with the maximum of simplicity, strength, and efficiency in construction obviating all danger of over running, making both long and short casting an easy and simple operation ands enabling the angler to have immediate control over his fish."
This beautiful reel is stamped Wallace Watson Patent No 136217 and all internal components are stamped 193.
This is the first model of reels Patented November 1918.
Another Special reel in any collection coming with what is believed to be the original stamped box.

Wallace Watson Patent No 216390
This is a fine example of Mr George Wallace Watsons' second patented reel, his application for his Patent was made in 1923. We are extremely lucky to be able to offer all three of his incredible designs and all in such original condition.
